How each of us can change the world and in the process, change ourselves for the better.

Part I

Each of us has to find our own sense of contentment and joy in the world, even during the dark or recessionary times.

When things are difficult, we tend to focus on ourselves. However, in reality, anyone who finds contentment and joy will find it, not in getting for himself but in giving to others.

It is in the giving that we get the most.  This seems a bit ironic. But I have witnessed it working with 4,000 businesses these past 30 years.

The best entrepreneurs are inventors. They are creators of something new or different, something that didn’t exist before. Whether in medicine, the arts, or business these individuals have one thing in common: They create something (product, service, art, etc.) that others value.

Statues are not erected to self-centered individuals. Everyone who has left a legacy has done so by creating something that improved the lives of others in some way. We are living 25-30 years longer than a century ago because entrepreneurs in medicine, exercise physiology and even dentistry asked:

How can I change the world?

…Make the world better?

…Help you?

…Make a difference for you?

…Improve your quality of life?

…Extend your life?

…Teach you something?

I started The Center 30 years ago because I wanted to make the lives of dentists better. I wanted to share models, principles and strategies that ensured continuous practice growth in a way that would serve the dentist well, but would also significantly improve the lives of team members and patients.

We know that our most successful clients stay involved with our models, methods, monitoring and mentoring for at least three years. Those who do not remain engaged regress, some as much as 50%. So staying connected with your network of higher learning is of the utmost importance.
